Xiaomi had finally announced the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition on 16 February 2022 in China. The Redmi K50 Series has Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, Redmi K50 Pro+, Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is the first phone in the Xiaomi and Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team partnership with a special limited edition of the phone sporting the racing team’s badge and colors.

A new design will be provided for the Redmi K50 Gaming. It starts with a copper radiator placed right on top of the chipset. Xiaomi also employed dual graphite sheets, stainless steel and mesh materials. For the colors, the Redmi K50 Gaming has Dream color blue, silver and black as well as a Mercedes AMG F1 edition.

Specifications and features of Redmi K50 Gaming
The Redmi K50 Gaming used the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. To keep the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and the rest of the components in check, Xiaomi had developed a new dual vapor chamber cooling system. The software of Redmi K50 Gaming is supported by Android 12 and MIUI 13. Besides, it also comes with WIFI 6E connectivity and NFC.
Last year, the right-hand side of Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was supported by a pair of physical game triggers. The Redmi K50 Gaming will get pop-up mechanical trigger buttons and JBL powered dual speakers. In addition, the Redmi K50 Gaming will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
For Redmi K50 Gaming Edition supports a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The phone features a metal frame while the back is made from glass. The panel outputs 10bit colors and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The camera of the Redmi K50 Gaming will have a triple rear camera system with a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2 MP tertiary lens. Besides, the front camera will have 20MP selfie snapper. In addition, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will have a different back design sporting all the camera sensors vertically.
In addition, Redmi K50 Gaming uses a 4700mAh battery. Besides, Xiaomi also announced that Redmi K50 Gaming will have up to 120W fast wired charging. Therefore, Redmi K50 Gaming can fully charge in just 17 minutes. There was a demo on stage that showed the phone took 37 minutes to get a full charge while being actively used to play a MOBA game.
Price of Redmi K50 Gaming
The baseline Redmi K50 Gaming with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage prices CNY 3,299 (RM2,180). There’s a 12/128 GB version for CNY 3,599(RM2,377) and a 12/256GB CNY 3,899 (RM2,575). In addition, the limited-edition Mercedes AMG F1 model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will retail for CNY 4,199(RM2,775).
