Honor has teased the launch of its first foldable smartphone, the Magic V, which will be the company’s next flagship product.
On the company’s official Twitter account, the first photograph was revealed. Other than displaying the phone’s hinge, the details are scarce. Although there is no official release date, their Weibo account appears to indicate that it is releasing shortly.
The Magic V’s design is still unknown. But, the Korean tech website The Elec claims that Honor’s foldable smartphone would have an inner screen of 8.03 inches and a cover screen of 6.45 inches. BOE Technology Group, a manufacturer of electrical components, will provide ultra-thin glass for the gadget.
This design is identical to that of the Huawei Mate X2, Honor’s previous parent company, as it turns out. On the other hand, Huawei is prohibited from conducting business in the United States. Therefore, it provides Honor a significant advantage.
Google Mobile Service and pre-installed Google apps are in Honor Magic V because it still has access to the Android license.
Honor’s current top phone, the Honor 50, has a 4300 mAh battery with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G CPU, which might indicate the direction Honor will go with this upcoming foldable.
Honor is the latest in a long line of tech companies attempting to develop their own foldable phone. Google has just submitted a patent for flexible displays. This is indicating that the corporation shows interest in folding devices.
