The Huawei P50 series was released in July and is exclusive to China. Huawei Malaysia has recently released a teaser stating that the P50 Pro would be arriving in Malaysia soon.
The P50 Pro is available in two variants in China: Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 888. According to Huawei Malaysia, the Huawei P50 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage for our market. It will be available in either Cocoa Gold or Golden Black in terms of color.
Huawei P50 Pro Specifications
The P50 Pro has a 6.6-inch dual-curved OLED display with a resolution of 2700×1228 pixels. It boasts a high refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. Other than that, it has a quad-camera system with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 40MP monochromatic f/1.6 shooter, a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom (3.5x optical zoom). It has a 13MP front camera with a punch-hole on the screen for selfies.
The Huawei P50 series might be the final Huawei smartphone to have the Leica name the German camera company’s partnership with Huawei is ending. Leica just introduced its own smartphone, and it’s been said that they’re working on a flagship phone alongside Xiaomi.
The P50 Pro supports 802.11ax WiFi 6, but it lacks 5G, which is a significant disadvantage for a brand new phone in 2022. This is owing to a US government restriction enforced in order for the Chinese tech business to get Qualcomm processors. Another notable omission is the absence of Google Mobile Services (GMS), which means you won’t be able to access Google apps and services in a consistent manner.
A 4,360mAh battery powers the device, which also supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging. The device is also dust and water-resistant to IP68 standards.
