Huawei is about to release a new wearable device with a special feature. Moreover, the company received certification for a blood pressure monitor wearable. Certainly, it might release before the year ends. Most importantly, it can measure your blood pressure straight on your wrist. The rumors said that the “Huawei Watch D”, the upcoming wearable might release in December.
So, the European Union Intellectual Property Office discovered the name “Huawei Watch D” in September, with the description “use in medical analysis; heart rate monitoring apparatus; arterial blood pressure measuring apparatus; blood pressure monitors.”
On the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, a tipster has released the Huawei Watch D advertising photos. Previous Huawei wearables bear little similarity to the photographs released. So, the Huawei Watch D has a rectangular display and two buttons on the right side. According to the leak, the buttons are to access Health and Home options. Huawei’s first smartphone with blood pressure monitoring capability can fulfill medical equipment regulations. In addition, the Huawei Watch D has a high accuracy rate. Moreover, the tipster also mentioned the item has already been registered with the State Drug Administration as a Class II medical device.
Finally, ECG and blood pressure monitoring are advanced health monitoring functions. As a result, these are often subject to regulatory approval in each nation. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, it appears that the Apple Watch is the only smartwatch that has been certified by the Medical Device Authority (MDA) to provide ECG.
