Malaysia Apple fan has been going crazy about the latest edition of The Edge Malaysia which reported that Apple may soon open its first retail store in Malaysia and it is said to be located at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) Kuala Lumpur.
TRX in talks with Apple Inc to open store.
A source say that the Tun Razak Exchange has been courting for at least two years to convince the world’s most admired company, Apple Inc, to make its long-awaited entrance in Malaysia. It is said, Apple Retail Store representatives were in town last month to hold further negotiations with TRX. A source says talks between the parties are at an advanced stage while another tells The Edge that it will take a lot of cajoling and convincing to get an Apple Retail Store in the country.
How many Apple store in South East Asia?
If the deal goes well, this makes Malaysia the 3rd market in Southeast Asia to have an Apple Store, after Thailand and Singapore. There are currently three in Singapore (Orchard Road, Jewel Changi and Marina Bay Sands) and two in Thailand (Iconsiam, Central World). Worldwide, there are about 510 Apple Retail Stores.
