It’s been 2 weeks since iOS 16 has been launched to the public. Besides than personalized lock screen, changes of the features for maps and messages, this update also has occurred quite a few bugs such as performance issues, battery drain, and more.
When a new operating system is launched, bugs will most likely occur and it will be fixed soon by the developers. However, this issue is not the same as last year since it has been already 2 weeks of releasing.
iOS 16 and its update
Initial iOS 16 version can be used by all iPhone models that support the upgrade of iOS 16.0. On the day of release, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro has their own iOS 16.0.1 update, which cleared up some new problems happened in the iPhone. Not long after, iOS 16.0.2 is announced, and this solved the issue of camera vibration that caused blurry photos, display appear completely black during device setup, voiceover not available after rebooting, copy and paste between apps causing a permission prompt to appear more than expected and more.
Bugs that appear until now
However, there are still bugs pending for the Apple developers to fix. Bugs such as:
-Spotlight searches too slow or even not functioning
-Extreme battery loss problem
-iPhone 14 Pro’s CarPlay issues
-Screen will appears tiny black shining dots when in low brightness
There is no news on iOS 16.0.3 yet, since we don’t know what the next plan is from Apple which is to launch iOS 16.1, or to do a minor update to iOS 16.0.4. Apple is still testing iOS 16.1 Beta with the testers, and it might be delayed until October till it releases.
Encounter bugs?
Worst case scenario, when you really encounter bugs in your iOS 16, try and do a hard reboot. You can do it by pressing volume up and down once, then immediately followed by a hold on the power button. It will most likely reset your device to the state before the bugs.
However, this doesn’t provide a guaranteed way to clear the bugs. The only thing we can do is to wait Apple to release a better version of iOS which is bug-free.
