After a couple of months in beta, the next major update for iOS 14 is iOS 14.5. Available for iPhone (SE 2016, 6 Plus and above) and iPad (iPad Air 2 & above, iPad Mini 4 and above, iPad fifth gen and above, iPad Pro 9.7 inch and above) the new iOS update deliver the most significant changes to Apple software since the debut of iOS 14. So here are a three cool changes that we think worth mentioning.
iOS 14.5 update support Apple AirTag.
Apple AirTag is a new iPhone accessory that can be personalized with free engraving, and enables iPhone users to securely locate and keep track of their valuables using the Find My app. Just like Apple AirPods, just bring AirTag close to your iPhone and it will connect. Users can attach AirTag to an item and name it with a default like “Keys” or “Umbrella”. Once it’s set up, it will appear in the new items tab in the Find My app, where you can view the item’s current or last known location on a map. Read more about Apple Air Tag here.
iOS 14.5 can unlock face id with facemask on.
Since the corona virus pandemic started. iPhone X and above users are frustrated that they had to take down the mask every time they needed to unlock the phone. After long awaited, Apple users finally the feature that we’ve been waiting for. However for this feature to work properly, you’ll need Apple Watch series 3 and above. All you need to do is go to your iPhone, click setting – click face ID and passcode – enter your passcode – scroll to unlock with Apple Watch – turn on. Next go to Apple Watch App on your iPhone – click passcode – turn on passcode – turn on unlock with iPhone. Once you done all this, you’ll be able to unlock your iPhone with mask on.
iOS 14.5 recalibration battery for iPhone 11 to 11 Pro Max.
